Benedictine College is a Newman Guide Recommended Catholic College
Benedictine College is recommended by The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College, a publication of The Cardinal Newman Society that recommends the best Catholic colleges, universities and higher education programs for excellence in faithful Catholic education.
Built on the bluffs overlooking the Missouri River in Atchison, Kansas, Benedictine College has been a “Newman Guide College” from the coining of that term, recommended by the Newman Society in every edition of the Newman Guide since it began publication.
In addition to one of the largest undergraduate Theology programs in the country, Benedictine College can also boast of a School of Engineering offering degrees in Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Architecture is also offered, making it one of the few Catholic colleges in America with both engineering and architecture. The college is also an All-Steinway school and is known for the excellence of its Music Department.

About the Cardinal Newman Society
The Cardinal Newman Society was founded in 1993 with the mission to “promote and defend faithful Catholic education.” One of the society’s key initiatives is to identify standards of Catholic identity in colleges and universities and recognize schools that are committed to faithful Catholic education. To this end the society has published The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College every year since 2007, and Benedictine College has been recommended as a “Newman School” in every edition.
